FACEBOOK SALES HACK

Let me tell you why you aren't making sales via Facebook yet.

This might not even sound strange to you at all but I can assure you that it's something you've been ignorant about for a long while now on social media.

Let me share an experience with you.

I accepted a young lady's friend request on Facebook, after a while she messaged me and we had an introductory conversation sharing what we both do professionally and career wise.
After that first conversation, we both didn't talk again for like two months or there about.
She now finally buzzed me the second time after a while and from the way she was chatting this time around, I noticed the conversation was becoming more urgent like there was a goal involved in terms of her approach, so I was following smartly.
Then, all of a sudden she just jumped in from no where in the context of the conversation telling me about some skincare product, emphasizing the benefits and efficiency of the body cream and I was left wondering if the babe is really interested in me or she just want my money.
Trust me na! As a sharp guy, wanting to show her some level of emotional intelligence this was my reply, "I really like your product and I would love to buy but honestly it's not part of my budget for this month, so let's do it this way, give me some more time, when I am ready, I will surely message you for a purchase".

Since then, I must confess, I haven't messaged her and no hard feelings, I don't think I will.

Why?

The answer is simple. "She hasn't earned my trust enough in the relationship before I can give her my money".
You might want to call me stingy, Fine! who cares but that's the truth.
You cannot change the fact that we humans no matter what, are still emotional and relationship beings. We only want to give money to those we like and those we think like us.

This is not the first time I am experiencing this here on social media but let's face the fact, I know we all want to make sales, everybody needs money but I think we sometimes get it wrong.

If your post has never helped me or added any value to me, why will I even give you my money in the first place.

If you have 1,000+ friends on facebook and none of them have ever messaged you to patronize your business, then I think it would be an error running a facebook ad looking for 20,000+ views when you haven't being able to manage the 1,000+ friends you have efficiently.

Most of the social media platforms we know today were primarily created for social and relationship interaction. As the platforms grew with time, the inventors later discovered that businesses can also thrive on the platforms because to be realistic, business itself is relationship driven which is where a lot of us on facebook get it wrong.

We are now more interested in making money online than creating and building the relationships we have on this platforms.

Don't get me wrong, nobody is saying you shouldn't make money online. I am just reminding you that the money we are both talking about is with the people and not the platform.

Ask yourself this simple questions.
You post on this platform almost every single day:

- How frequent do you message your friends here?
- When was the last time you buzzed someone asking them of their well-being and family?
- When was the last time you did a post acknowledging someone here for what they've done for you in the past?
- How many person's birthday do you post about celebrating them on this platform?
- When was the last time you recommended an opportunity to someone here?

You see! We have being deviating from the real thing itself. Instead of social media being a platform to connect us to new relationships and strengthen the existing ones rather I think its now doing the exact opposite.

Think about this yourself.
My thought is simply this, you will start making gradual sales on this platform the day you start building and strengthening good business relationships.
